So students, there are two genders, masculine and feminine. Okay. Really? Then what are other genders???? Are they humans or maybe they’re aliens and that’s why you don’t include them in our information box? Why do not like them? Why do you stop them from enjoying their life and their rights? Government of India has been illegalising homosexuality for very long. After the battle of an eternity, it still feels like we have a long way to go before we win. Since we always take Indian history as an assailant to destroy and harm LGBT community in one way or the other, let’s see what the history has to offer us. Throughout Hindu or Vedic texts, there are many descriptions of saints, demigod or even the Supreme Lord transcending gender norms and manifesting multiple combinations of sex and gender. There are several stories of depicting love between same sexes especially among kings and queens. Transsexuals are also venerated, e.g. Lord Vishnu as Mohini and Lord Shiva as Ardhanarishwara. Homosexuality was never viewed as a crime, on the contrary, alternative sexuality have always been an inalienable part of society. Apart from male and female, there are over 20 genders, such as transwoman, transmen, androgynous, pangender and trigender, etc and in ancient India and is referred to as  trithiya prakirthi. Tell me oh good people! Tell me why we are questioning our own history, our own gods. Tell me why we are not following the beat of our own heart. Tell me why we do not feel the sorrow and the pain of humanity. Tell me when these saddening stories will stop. O sweet lord! Bring us the harmony and the peace that we need. Make us the part of community where shall thrive the goodness and live the rightful people. Bring us the nation where the gender doesn’t divide us but feelings and togetherness unite us.  Yukta
